This is a super rare / early fuzz box. Created by Shin-Ei under the Companion brand, this pedal is essentially a univox uni fuzz.
Some more info: The Uni-fuzz was an AC version of the Super Fuzz, had a remote switch to turn the effect off and on. Also there was a delay between hitting the switch and the effect coming on. Marketed under several names including the Alternado Fuzz by Companion.
The pedal has two tones; one is very round and thick and the other is more like a buzzy gritty sound, very versatile.
This one has had a switch installed to turn the effect off like a modern stomp box, it originally had a foot switch connected to the “cancel” input, as you can tell this is a very early model! Works and sounds great!
