The Slamurai was designed to not have that problem. The 3-band EQ is calibrated specifically for guitar frequencies, which means the bass, mid, and treble controls actually do what you want them to do rather than fighting each other.

The gain range goes from clean boost through classic overdrive and into genuine high-gain territory. What makes it worth paying attention to is the dynamics — it reacts to pick attack the way a good amp does, which means you can vary your touch and get different sounds out of it rather than the same clipped signal at every volume. That touch sensitivity is harder to achieve than it sounds and most pedals in this price range don't do it well. This one does.
