- Description: If you’ve been looking for the ultimate "do-it-all" amp that works just as well on a crowded stage as it does in your bedroom, the Boss Katana-100 Gen 3 is pretty much the gold standard. Boss took everything everyone loved about the previous Katanas and gave it a massive tune-up under the hood. This is a 100-watt beast running through a custom 12-inch speaker, which means you’ve got more than enough clean headroom and volume to gig, practice with a loud drummer, or just fill a room. But the real magic of the Gen 3 update is the newly refined Tube Logic architecture and a brand-new "Pushed" amp type. It gives you that touch-responsive, edge-of-breakup tube feel that reacts beautifully to how hard you pick. Between that and the classic clean, crunch, and high-gain voices, there isn't a tone you can't dial in. The effects section is completely loaded, too. You basically have a massive pedalboard built right into the amp, with five independent effects sections you can use at the same time. Whether you want subtle reverb and delay, or wacky modulations, it’s all right there. Best of all, you don't have to blast your eardrums to get the good stuff. Thanks to the built-in Power Control, you can scale the wattage down from a full 100 watts to 50 watts, or even a bedroom-friendly 0.5 watts, keeping that cranked-amp roar at a volume that won't annoy the neighbors. It’s rugged, incredibly versatile, and just flat-out fun to plug into.
