The Big Monk Pi 1973 #3 Ram's Head is a result of my desire to get that distinctive David Gilmour Ram's Head Big Muff sound.
Little is known, definitively speaking, about the famous "DG Original" Ram's Head but through careful research, and a little bit of engineering and sonic judgement, I believe I have hit upon a recipe for transistor gain and diode forward voltage that nails it.
The Big Monk Pi Ram's Head 1973 #3 also has an internal Mids trimmer. This controls the depth and character of the classic Big Muff Tone Control mid scoop, going from a relatively deep scoop reminiscent of the older Triangle and first generation Ram's Head units. through a flatter, Russian territory.
