If you found this listing you probably know how amazing these amplifiers are! When these came out they were unlike anything else Fender had ever released, it had all those classic clean tones we had grown to love, but also an overdrive channel made to keep up with all the high gain amps that were becoming very popular in that era. And capable of being REALLLLY loud. Like seriously loud! I know because I played one of these in my band back in the early early/mid 90s and absolutely LOVED it! (So did Jeff Beck right around this same time) This particular one has definitely seen some use over the years (see pics) but everything is working perfectly and it sounds just as good as I remember mine sounding back in the day, a really great amplifier that will keep up with anything you would find on the market currently at a fraction of what you would pay for something new. All the extra features this amp has still come in really handy, especially the built in speaker compensated D.I. and ability to switch it down to 25 watts (did I mention how loud these can get?). I also do have a set of black knobs I can include/put on if you prefer that look (see the last picture in the listing). Sorry no footswitch, but everything can also be controlled from the front panel. Nice easy pick up right off of Rte. 3 in Tyngsboro Massachusetts, would love to see this go to a new happy home, more details below, thank you and be well! -Carl

With the onset of the 80’s, Fender amps went through some radical changes to compete with the new breed of amp firms such as Mesa, Soldano etc. The Rivera designed Twin Reverb II ushered in this era at Fender and was replaced by The Twin, often referred to as the "Evil Twin" due to the addition of both a separate gain channel and a switchable overdrive on the clean, in 1987. It features a hi/lo output switch allowing the user to select either 25 watts or 100 watts of output. The Twin was designed for maximum versatility for live or studio use with features like speaker out jacks with selectable impedance, Low-z/XLR output, a "Power Amp Thru" feature that bypassed the preamp circuit and a buffered effects loop. Earlier Twin Reverb amps were known among musicians to be best suited for loud, "clean" tones. "The Twin" amps are capable of a much wider range of tones.

This Fender "Red Knob Twin" features the stock 2 12" Fender speakers and has the classic silver/grey grill and black tolex. Has a nice set of removeable casters as well, very handy. The Twin also has push-pull features on many of the pots which add many additional functions. A real TUBE amp with classic Fender spring reverb. All of the classic Twin tones are here, plus the gain channel gives anything from mild grit and overdrive to distortion rivaling any Marshall. Sustain for days and a clean sound from the crisp Fender blueprint, you have it all here.
