Celbrating the Iconic Route 66's 100 year Anniversary!

We have here a very Rare Rare Dean Palomino Route 66 Archtop Hollowbody Jazz box in a beautiful Honey Sunburst finish for sale. This guitar is one of only 12 that were Custom Built by Dean Guitars exclusively for Route 66 Classic Guitars.

This awesome Dean Palomino is in mint condition and the electronics work as they should. The action is low, but it may need to be set up to your personal preference. The Route 66 Seven Sound Palomino has the body style of an ES-175 and is equipped with a push pull pot, 3 P-90 Pickups and a 5 way switch, making that out-of phase sound a reality.

This particular guitar actually has 7-way switching. By pulling the volume knob up while your pickup selector is in the neck position you then have the neck and bridge pickups connected together. Then moving the selector back one position, you will have all three pickups connected. This is what makes it the Dean Palomino Route 66 Seven Sound Jazzbox. Also, the third knob, lowest on the body, is tone control just for the bridge pickup.

The Route 66 Seven Sound Palomino has the body style of an ES-175 and a fat 50s neck profile. It has a beautiful maple body with a flame maple top and Florentine cutaway for easy access to the upper frets. The set maple neck has a comfortable C shape with a dark rosewood fingerboard and pearl block inlays. Gold hardware includes Grover tuners, a floating/adjustable bridge and elegant tailpiece.This guitar is equipped with a push pull pot, 3 P-90 Pickups and a 5 way switch, making that out-of phase sound a reality. This guitar does it all! This guitar is the American Holy Grail come to life for the first time in history! Now you can have your cake and eat it too at an affordable price!

The concept behind the seven-sound mod is simple: add a switching device that can activate the bridge pickup. Position 1 of the 5-way selector switch activates the bridge pickup alone. Position 2 adds the middle pickup to the Bridge pickup. Position 3 engages the middle pickup only. Position 4 adds the neck pickup to the middle pickup. Position 5 engages the neck only. By engaging the push pull pot in Position 5 the bridge is added to the neck for your first out of phase sound. This is Position 6. Position 7 is achieved by engaging the push/pull pot in Position 4 for your second out of phase sound. These are the seven sound possibilities.

There are no breaks or repairs on these guitars, they are not stamped used or are they 2nd and not a B-stock or a blem models.

And please realize that the price of shipping reflects the fact that these guitars comes in a cases, so therefore it adds to the weight & size of the package.   
At Rocking the Shack, we like guitars in cases, nice and safe! And are also big fans of strap locks! Pickguards are also nice since they do protect the finish!   
At the Shack we do tune ups and set-ups but only when requested by customer, ( a $90.00 - $120.00 charge) Unless, at times we feel that a set up would really benefit an instrument then we just do it. 
Of course every guitar deserves a good set up with new strings if needed!   
At the Shack we keep climate control conditions all year round and the instruments live in a smoke free environment in their cases!  
As mentioned before we love cases and strap locks for the safety and protection they offer.  Need we say more!   
Pick guards are also nice for protection of the body and when matched up right they can bring out the hidden beauty in an instrument!
