On consignment we have a 1997 Martin SP000C-16TR Special Edition Acoustic Guitar w/non-original TKL hardshell case. This guitar is in good condition and is set up with DR Rare .12 strings with a 12th fret action (top of fret crown to bottom of string) of about 2.75mm. This guitar does not nor has it ever had a pick up installed. This is a classic sounding rosewood Martin guitar that is ready to go. More photos on our website.

Condition-- this is a one owner guitar from an estate, a dream guitar for him that he played fingerstyle on and cherished and is in good condition, but does have a few issues. Please read carefully. Typical of Martins of this era, there is about a 3" section of the faux tortoise binding on the back bout, where it would rest on the leg that is loose. It has not come off or cracked, but is loose. This is considered an easy repair. The remainder of the binding has been inspected and is solid. There is abut an inch and a half gouge (not to the wood) on the lower bout of the top (see photos). Some light wear to the gold plated tuners, which work well. Otherwise this guitar shows light wear from normal use, some hand printing and such. No abuse, no dings, no headstock damage. Light wear includes some light scratching to the top and pickguard. A couple of very small dings on the back of the neck at the 7th fret, but otherwise a clean neck, no rig rash. Clean fingerboard, frets show light wear in the first and second position, but only light and are a solid 90-95% and are good to go. No buckle rash. Truss rod checked and working, the saddle sits high and has plenty of room to lower the set up if you wish. The case is non-original and in good shape, a small bit of the interior has come unglued, but no smells, and serves this guitar well.

Specs-- this model was discontinued in 2002, and if the internet is correct, 136 were made in total. This special edition instrument has a cutaway 000-size body with a sitka spruce top, rosewood back and sides and a 14-fret 25.4" neck.  The rosewood fingerboard features pearl snowflake, slotted diamond, and cats eye inlays.  Other appointments include an abalone sound hole rosette, tortoise style pickguard and body binding and gold tuners.
