Description 48 HOUR PRCESSING TIME

The Gibson Custom 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue VOS captures all the magic of one of the most iconic electric guitars ever made. This meticulous recreation brings you face-to-face with everything that made original '58 Les Pauls so revered-from the chunky '58 neck profile to the gorgeous sunburst finish over a center-seam maple top. Whether you choose the gloss or non-gloss Vintage Old Stock (VOS) nitrocellulose lacquer, you're getting an instrument steeped in history that will inspire you to create new classics.

Vintage Tone and Feel, Reborn

From the moment you wrap your hands around the '58 Les Paul Standard Reissue's neck, you'll be transported back in time. The chunky '58 neck profile combined with narrow/tall frets provides a distinctive playing experience that defined the original bursts. The aniline dye back and center-seam maple top aren't just for looks-they have a significant impact on the guitar's resonance and sustain. All of the historic-spec parts are present, from the vintage-style tuners down to the long-tenon neck joint. Every element coalesces to deliver world-class vintage Les Paul tone.

Inspiring Vintage Tone, Uncompromising Modern Performance

While the vintage look and feel is incredibly accurate, the Gibson Custom 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue VOS has been optimized for the needs of the modern player. The dual humbuckers have been re-voiced to provide a balance of vintage warmth and contemporary articulation. The Plek'd fingerboard ensures flawless intonation and playability. And the lightweight aluminum casing allows for comfortable, fatigue-free playing during long sessions or gigs. It's the perfect embodiment of a classic, infused with the latest lutherie innovations.

Recapturing a Faded Sunburst Icon

While the original '58 Les Paul Standards were offered in Cherry Sunburst only, decades of exposure to light caused the aniline dye to fade in myriad ways across individual guitars. Gibson Custom celebrates this vintage variation by offering four distinct sunburst color options with the Reissue VOS models. You can choose the look that speaks to you most, from the bold to the delicately aged. The non-gloss VOS nitro lacquer finish also develops a unique patina over time, enhancing the vintage vibe.

A True Vintage Voice Reborn

With its period-accurate construction and premium components, the '58 Les Paul Standard Reissue conjures the resonance, clarity and harmonic complexity that made original bursts legendary. The 490R/498T humbuckers are faithful reincarnations of the original PAF pickups, with just the right blend of warmth, articulation and snarl. Every note rings out in three-dimensional glory as the guitar's tonewoods breathe with your playing. It's as close to owning an original '58 burst as you can get without a time machine.
