To help celebrate the Stratocaster’s 70th year, this 70th-anniversary Player Stratocaster unveils a unique look and sound that blend some of the model’s greatest elements throughout its many years into one supreme 6-string. A body of solid alder matched with a modern “C”-shaped maple neck provides a combination that’s both classic and quite comfortable to play, topped with 22 frets of gorgeous and easily navigable rosewood. Quality hardware components abound, including an outfit of ClassicGear tuning machines and a workhorse 2-point tremolo bridge. As for its sonics, the 70th-anniversary Player Stratocaster comes powered by three Pure Vintage ’59 single-coil Strat pickups, keeping an assortment of authentic tones on hand that directly channel the sound of the Stratocaster’s golden years. A happy 70th to the Stratocaster, indeed!
