My tech just gave this bass some love. He noticed that a couple of solder joints needed some attention. This bass is sounding noticeably better. I always wanted an Alembic, since I started playing bass. I was fascinated by Stanley Clarke and his tone. I’ve used the Alembic tube preamp for over 30 years. When the opportunity to buy this bass came along, I did not hesitate to purchase it. Unfortunately for me, I suffer from lower back problems and this Series 1 is just too heavy for me to play gigs with. Aside from some small dings on the neck and body and the chip on the back of the headstock (the Zebra wood veneer); I think this bass is in very good condition. Everything else is just honest play wear. The finish, electronics, tuners, hardware… are all original. When I purchased this bass it came without the power supply box and the 5 pin XLR cable. These are brand new. I like to run it w/ two 9V batteries and the vintage Switchcraft stereo cable into two amps. I will include this stereo chord in the case. The case shows it’s age. Usually with instruments this heavy, the original cases fall completely apart overtime. But all the latches and hinges still work (sometimes with a little coaxing on the outer latches). PLEASE ask me any questions if you are serious about purchasing this bass. I’m not looking forward to shipping this huge/fragile instrument. And I would hate for a buyer to be unhappy and ask for a return. Thanks for looking.
