This is a FUCHS ODS MOD. Originally a Music Man HD130 which has been gutted by Andy Fuchs and rebuilt as an ODS (OD Supreme). Andy removes all of the amps innards, save for the transformers and chassis, and repopulates the amp with brand new quality components to give you that creamy overdrive that lovers of Santana, Eric Johnson, Larry Carlton, Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and so many other guitarists have achieved through the use of this amp's inspiration. The cleans on this thing are beautiful. 130 watts gives you tons of headroom so expect to get some crystal clear cleans out of this thing! She's loaded with an 80's EVM12l speaker that is perfectly broken in. The speaker alone is worth a good chunk of change, but this amp is perfectly paired with it so I don't want to separate the two.
The reverb sounds nice and lush, there's no effects loop but she'll take pedals well. The Overdrive on this amp uses cascading gain from the clean channel into the OD section which you can drive pretty hard. The FUCHS ODS is not designed for Hard Rock & Metal, it's a blues amp... that being said, this thing will hold it's own pretty well in the Rock genre. Especially when you throw a nice mean OD/Distortion on the front end.
This amp was very recently retubed and re-biased with a set of Groove Tubes with a rating of 7 (Normal rating for broad range of playability and response). The tubes have no more than 6 hours of play time on them currently! When playing, this amp likes to be cranked up to hit it's sweet spot, but it still sounds incredible at lower playing volumes at home and in small clubs. There is no footswitch for this, if you'd like one you can contact Andy Fuchs at Fuchsaudiotechnology.com to order one for this specific amp.
