ESP 90's Mirage Reverse Headstock Floyd Rose Seymour Duncan JB See-Thru Emerald Green Ultra Rare
This 90's model ESP Mirage has an original Floyd Rose Tremolo and a Seymour Duncan JB pickup. It was the most expensive ESP in their catalog (besides a few Signature Series) at the time. They made several different versions of the Mirage, the regular Mirage had different pickups, a non-locking nut and a Wilkinson tremolo. This Mirage came with a Floyd Rose from the factory and is extremely rare. So rare, that there's only about 3 of them I know of in existence in Green. The other 2 I've seen, one had the body drilled to add a switch and the other had the pickups changed, so I wanna say this is the only stock Green Mirage Floyd that's around. There might be a couple floating around in someones private collection but they haven't talked about it or shown them on the internet in the last 30 years. Most of the times, if you try to do an internet search for a green ESP Mirage with Floyd Rose, this is the very guitar that will pop up. It's in awesome condition for it's age. It's roughly ~30 years old. I'll try to be as detailed as I can about the guitar.
1. It has the common neck pocket cracks in the finish that all ESP's from this era have. I've taken the neck off before and the crack is only in the finish and doesn't go through the wood. It doesn't affect any play-ability or anything on the guitar.
2. The biggest ding on the front is only a small dimple sized ding that is located a couple inches below the middle pickup. There is also a dimple sized ding above the middle pickup near the edge of the body. If you zoom in the pictures real close you can see them. There's a couple of small dings near the control knobs also.
3. There's some rash and a couple scratches on the back between the neck plate and trem cavity. Nothing I would consider major.
Other than that it sounds and plays great. I'm guessing because this guitar has been in Vegas for over ~20 years every bit of moisture has been sucked out of it, no matter what this guitar holds tune. I'll have this thing sitting in the case for months and I'll pull it out in the winter or the summer and this thing will still be in tune rock solid even with the floating trem. The neck doesn't have any major dings or anything you would feel while playing it on the back. It's an ESP so the neck and fretwork are top notch. They chose a beautiful piece of wood for the neck. The back of the neck has a very symmetrical and evenly spaced grain that runs lengthwise down the neck with a nice swirl grain right down the center. You can just tell they picked the most beautiful grained woods for these runs of see-through Mirages.
It has a Seymour Duncan JB that was hand wound in the 90's so you know it sounds fantastic. Comes with the original hard shell case and original Floyd Rose trem bar. I've been the care taker of this beautiful ESP for many years and I would love to see it go to a good home. This is an extremely rare guitar and I priced it cheaper than comparable Floyd Mirage's I currently see on Reverb.
Pickup in Henderson / Las Vegas area. I'm 15 minutes from the strip in Las Vegas so you are more than welcome to come over to play the guitar in person.
Edit - I noticed on Reverb's specs of the guitar it is listing it as a 24 fret Mirage Standard. This is NOT Correct, this is a 22 fret Mirage HSS with Floyd Rose Locking Trem. This guitar is extremely rare and Reverb does not have listing I can choose with the correct specs so do not trust those Reverb specs and description listed.
Watch out, scammers have stolen my pictures and posted listings on Facebook and other social media sites. If this guitar is not coming from me, it's a scam.
