Handmade Doublecut Jr solid body electric guitar featuring a curly maple top and Honduras Mahogany body with a mahogany deep set neck. Our Doublecut Jr model is designed to meet the needs of everyone looking for a lightweight, comfortable, and simple guitar with a bespoke, handmade style.

Weighing a scant 5 pounds and 14 ounces, this guitar is ultimately playable for the longest sessions without causing fatigue or ruining your back! The compact body and 24.75" scale contribute to playability and comfort.

The neck is a three piece laminate of Honduras Mahogany. The neck features our deep set construction, with a large tenon extending well into the body in order to combine the best features of a traditional set neck with those of a neckthrough instrument. The fretboard is Indian Rosewood and features a 12" radius and 23 frets, with blue abalone dot markers on the front and side of the board. The headstock has a maple veneer that matches the body cap. The neck has carbon fiber reinforcement, a dual action truss rod, and a magnetic truss rod cover on the headstock, giving it a clean, no-screws look. The frets are medium and the neck is a medium C profile.

This guitar features a shop made brass wraparound bridge mounted on locking studs. The tuners are locking open back Hipshots. The guitar has a bone nut and cream speed knobs.

The single pickups is our own handwound dogear stacked humbucking p90 design. This pickup is overwound with 41 gauge wire, giving it power and clarity without becoming muddy. It has a typically bright p90 tone while remaining noise free thanks to the second coil stacked on the back of the pickup baseplate. We make these pickups on vulcanized fiberboard flatwork, wrap them with paper tape, and pot them in wax to give a vintage look and solid performance.

The hidden control cavity is shielded with copper tape and is accessed through removing the output jack plate - there is no separate control cavity cover. This allows for an ultra clean and uninterrupted appearance front and back. The Bourns control pots are mounted on an aluminum plate inside the cavity, making it easy to pull them out as a unit if the need for service should ever arise.

The guitar is strung with 10 gauge Ernie Ball strings. It has been finished with a hand rubbed oil and wax finish, and buffed to a satin/semigloss sheen. This gives a nice warm glow and retains the look and feel of natural wood.
