About This Listing

This is a 1948 Martin 00-18G serial number 125462. The guitar is NOT the same guitar that Willy Nelson plays named Trigger. It is very similar. Nelson’s was an N-20. This is a ‘48 00-18G. ”G” for gut. Did they really use cat gut back in the day?

This is a very light and expressive instrument. The neck is a bit flatter than a 00-18 steel string of the same era.

It goes without saying that a guitar, like Willy Nelson's trigger, is not without a few dings and such. I have tried my best to photograph so the buyer gets a sense of the honest state of this guitar.

The nylon strings make it a pleasure to pick and write songs with. It is great for either finger style, strumming, or classical inspired motifs. Just a great guitar to have around.

Everything is original except for the tuning head end caps that had to be replaced as the originals were made out of melamine, like WWII U.S. military buttons on uniforms. They can crack over time.

The guitar is been well cared for. You can tell by the shape of the case. This is not a sturdy case but has kept going for over 75 years. The original leather handle split and had to be replaced.

Anyway, this is a really great guitar and I am looking for a buyer who would provide a good home for it and appreciate it. I am getting on in years and not sure my kids will know what this guitar is after I pass away.
