This is a G&L Tribute Legacy HSS limited edition from 2016, really nice Crimson Red with lots of beautiful mahogany wood grain showing through, and a black headcap.
I’m selling as I’m just not feeling this one, even though it looks gorgeous. While the pickups sound awesome, but it’s missing the coil-splits you can get on a more recent Legacy HSS (and the 5-way switch doesn’t split the bridge pickup either, so position 2 is 3 coils and not hum-cancelling.) The PTB (two band passive EQ) does make this sound so much different from any other HSS s-type, being able to roll off the highs or the low end makes for interesting results, especially with dirt pedals. Neck starts off as a thin-medium C, then gets a little flatter in middle like a D, very comfortable. 9.5” radius, and the usual 25.5” scale length. The bridge is very interesting, and works well with the tuners, I never thought about getting replacement locking tuners with this guitar because you can wail on the tremolo arm pretty hard and it will pop back to tune very easily (though I’m not Eddie Van Halen, so your mileage may vary.)
Some play wear and finish scratches here and there, but no major dings, dents, no breaks, no cracks and no visible repairs. Ships with a Roadrunner case, the G&L headstock is actually a lot longer than anything from Fender or Squier, these Roadrunner cases are a perfect fit, many other cases are not. I have a truss rod wrench but that’s about it, no case candy came with this.
Free shipping to the lower-48, everywhere else is $300 via FedEX or UPS.
