Great neck angle and killer action to boot.

The Favilla Family history is pretty interesting: they immigrated to the US around 1895 from Cremona, Italy, home of the famed Stradivarius violins. They landed in Brooklyn, NY and competed in the guitar industry for many years, until about 1973. The Favilla company produced excellent-quality guitars, ukes, and even some banjos and mandolins. I personally have owned, restored/repaired, and sold over 60 of their instruments, so I'm definitely a fan!

The Favilla luthiers were bracing/tone freaks and geniuses.. this unit had a combination of old-school pyramid and fan bracing that produces a stunningly beautiful and haunting tone! The neck has a robust yet comfortable profile with no radius on the fingerboard. Bone nut and compensated bone saddle (new).

The tone is simply incredible- big and boomy yet rich and balanced. Made of all solid woods: Adirondack top and Honduran sides and back with Brazilian rosewood bridge and fret board. The finish is original - no cracks throughout - the binding has shrunk, separated and recessed over the years (typical of these guitars - see pics). The binding is the only flaw I can detect and certainly not a deterrent.. for the tone is super=natural!

All but one of the tuners are original not great but functional), the original pick guard was lunched so I manufactured and installed a replica. Minor bumps and scuff here and there - see pics.

Bottom line is that this guitar is an incredible player. It's stable and ready for recording, gigging, or even just to admire on the wall for the next 60 years. An excellent buy!
