Over the past 50 years, master luthier Michael Dunn has hand-built more than 500 instruments for some of the world's leading players, collectors and investors. Many of these instruments are an ode to the tradition of Django Reinhardt's gypsy jazz and Selmer guitars from the 1930s.
However, this Petit Bouche is inspired by Pablo Picasso who also painted guitars and even built one (not working). The lines of this instrument bear a strong resemblance to the world-famous painter's Analytical Cubism, a unique and visually impressive addition to the wavy lines of the Selmer-esque styling. Unique features include the two-piece ebony/satinwood back, ebony rosette, the tailpiece with ebony/maple overlay and the ebony armrest.
The guitar has that typical sound that characterizes Gypsy guitars, and its unique, stylized design makes it a truly eye-catcher. Michael Dunn built this guitar in 2005, and the guitar is still in excellent condition despite minor playwear. Delivered with TFOA passport in a gig bag.
