This is an incredible example of this model. Nearly perfect condition with some slight 'worming' on the back of the body (see last pic). I'm the 3rd-ish owner and expected to be it's last but I need to thin the herd as they say so this is on the chopping block.
This is a bit of a weird one. The serial number indicates '74-75 but the specifications indicate the second generation which would have come out in '78ish. It's entirely possible that this was made from a blend of parts left over from the first run, with the updated electronics of the second run. Hard to say. I'm sticking with the serial number but thought you should know.
This particular guitar is pretty rare, as the natural/blonde finish isn't seen much and this has a maple neck joined to a mahogany body rather than a mahogany neck/mahogany body. It looks to me like a mahogany body with a maple top??
I purchased it from the brother of the original owner so that makes me the 2nd and a half owner?
The finish has typical checking in headstock area and there is some minor pitting in the bridge chrome. It's potentially a 50 year old guitar, so other than that it's in great condition. Weighs 10.8lbs.
Comes with the the original chainsaw case. Everything is original, sounds incredible and is super versatile. If you're looking at this you'll probably already know that this was Les Paul's 'Ultimate Guitar', with all the features and innovations he'd dreamed of.
