Special j.custom Neck - RG j.custom Super Wizard 5pc Maple/Wenge neck includes jumbo frets finished with our j.custom special fret edge treatment for a super smooth and comfortable performance. The "Velvetouch" finish on the back of the neck ensures a "just right" feel and easy playability.
Flamed Maple Top - AAA Flamed Maple top with beautiful natural body binding.
Fretboard - Selected Macassar Ebony fretboard with Flamed Maple binding and Tree of life inlay.
Lo-Pro Edge tremolo bridge - The legendary Lo-Pro Edge bridge offers maximum playing comfort with its streamlined profile and recessed fine tuners. Locking studs contribute to tuning stability.
Condition: This is a B-Stock J Custom RG8520. The reason this is a B-Stock is because of two tiny heel cracks (not repaired) in the neck pocket and also because the headstock finish is a different color than the body (see photos). - Make any adjustments so the neck is straight to avoid any fret buzzing and for comfort
- Check the nut and nut slots for any adjustments/filing to prevent any tuning issues, as well as for comfort at the lower frets
- Make any adjustments to the bridge/tremolo system so it’s in the proper position for tuning stability
- Set the action to a height that feels comfortable for each guitar
- Set the intonation so you’re in tune everywhere on the neck
All of these steps will make your brand new guitar feel as comfortable as ever and ready to play straight out of the box!
