Superb SONY CDP-605ESD CD Player

Offered for sale is fairly rare Sony CDP-605ESD CD-player.

I could write a lot about the quality of this unit but I will just say they simply don't make this type of machine any longer.

Uses highly acclaimed BU-1 heavy duty and durable mechanism with high power optical pick up. Mechanism is rock solid heavy metal. I will argue there was not a better mechanism ever made. There may be an equal but not better. Door closes like a vault.

Has legendary TDA1541 Philips DAC

Has digital output. Obviously this unit can be used as a top level transport.

This unit has been cleaned and serviced with new belts installed. Drawer slides lubed.

Unit in general works perfectly. It reads disk TOC almost instantly and seeks and finds tracks in less than a second. It’s simply crazy how well this reads CDs. It tolerates disk flaws extremely well.

COSMETICS: Unit does not have perfect cosmetics:

1. Front top aluminum lip: several scratches.

2. Front clear cover for LCD has moderate flaw.

I have done my very best to catch these imperfections on camera. I am not professional photographer though. :)

Sales includes aftermarket remote as pictured. It works well. Nearly all OEM Sony CD remotes found on EBay will control this unit.
