This is no off-the-shelf instrument with a signature attached; the John Mayer Strat is built to the Grammy-winning artist's personal specs. You get a unique, slightly bigger C-shaped neck profile and a trio of Big Dipper single-coil Strat pickups (with a special "scooped" midrange voicing), for starters. Five tremolo springs are installed at the factory, and the string tree is a bit further from the nut than it would be on a standard Strat.
