I am offering a Fender USA Jaco Pastorius Jazz Bass from 2010, the signature model of the legendary American jazz bassist Jaco Pastorius, made in Corona, California (USA), as a 4-string fretless version with a solid lightweight alder body (4.0kg total weight!), bolt-on maple neck with "C" neck profile and 38mm nut width, fine Pau Ferro fingerboard with vintage clay dot inlays and fretlines, two hot Fender American Vintage Jazz Bass single-coil pickups, long 864mm scale length, classic Fender open-gear tuners and vintage style bridge with four barrel string saddles in a brilliant 3-color sunburst nitro finish in excellent condition incl. Fender G&G Brown Deluxe hardshell case, manufacturer's papers and professional setup with flatwound strings.
This Fender Jaco Pastorius Tribute Jazz Bass is an authentic interpretation of the legendary "Bass of Doom" by the exceptional American jazz bassist Jaco Pastorius. The four-string bass is based on a classic '62 Jazz Bass design and accordingly comes with a solid off-set alder body, which, thanks to its low weight of only 4.0kg and the thin nitrocellulose finish in 3-color sunburst, already resonates excellently acoustically, as well as a 4-bolt bolt-on maple neck, whose slim "C" profile is the perfect basis for dexterous licks. Pau-Ferro is also used for the fretless fingerboard, in which thin fret lines help to hit every note with pinpoint accuracy.
In terms of sound, two top-class Fender American Vintage J-Bass single-coil pickups transmit the velvety response and singing sustain of the fretless bass to the amplifier with harmonious naturalness. With the help of the classic passive electronics, which provide an individual volume control for each pickup and a general treble control, a versatile spectrum of different timbres can be set.
A sound example of the model can be found at the end of the photo gallery.
Classic Fender US vintage hardware gives the instrument an authentic style and unshakeable reliability. The body features the tried-and-tested Fender Vintage bass bridge, which guarantees precise intonation and a comfortable string position with four individually adjustable barrel string saddles. At the same time, the grooved surfaces of the barrels allow a certain amount of adjustability of the string spacing. At the headstock, the strings are also guided via a synth. bone nut to the precise Fender Vintage Open-Gear tuners.
Visually, no question about it, an absolute masterpiece: the thin nitro finish in 3T Sunburst successfully complements the dark, warm-grained Pau Ferro fingerboard with elegant vintage clay dot inlays and subtle fretlines to create a dreamlike overall picture.
