Here is very clean 2007 Epiphone Zephyr Regent reissue that harkens back to the style of the original 50's line of Epiphone Zephyr guitars. A true hollowbody archtop guitar, the Epiphone Zephyr Regent is a great entry into the world of jazz archtops at a very reasonable price.
This guitar is in excellent condition for it's age with minimal fret wear (no grooving) some wear on the pickup and bridge gold plating, and the tuners have been upgraded with sealed gold plated units. One minor scratch on the backside, and typical scuffing on the black pickguard. Includes molded SKB case.
The Zephyr Regent follows closely the pattern of 50's jazz guitars, and other than the conventional non-floating humbucker pickup the Zephyr is pretty much true to form. The full body and neck binding is a nice touch and the Art Deco tailpiece gives it an extra shot of pizazz. Sonically it's natural tone more bright and articulate than we expected, which is just fine as there is always the tone control to darken it up. It's nicely responsive to pick attack and would probably sound even better with flatwound strings (which we can install as an option). It plays well at .060" action, and overall the Zephyr Regent is a no-brainer for a totally gig-able jazz box at a great price.
