Mint but factory reliced.
This is the first Whitfill Hardtail S-type guitar that he used mu patented Lesko Ferrule Tubes.
10" radius and the neck is 0.814" at the 1st and 0.980" at the 12th Also the last 4 photos show the neck carve the first 2 is at the first and the las 2 are at the 12th.
Built with lightweight alder (check the postal scale).
Charles kept me in the loop every step of the way. And gave away some on my Lesko Ferrule tubes to some national acts he builds for.
The only changes made were to the electronics. I swapped out the humbucker to a Suhr Doug Aldrich to get close to the Ian Thornley fuzzed out tone. The neck and middle are stock and I believe they were wound by Onamac Windery, The neck nail the Hendrix "gypsy eyes intro tone".
Other than that, I installed a 3 way (1 humbucker only, 2 Middel and neck, 3 neck only) I also used new old stock ceramic caps from the 60s and wired an independent tone for the bridge. Why? well that is just how I like it, it simple and clean. but a 5 way can be installed without a problem.
I wish I could keep this one, but I placed a lot of custom orders for independent builders. To get my patent out so I can't keep them all.
I am honored to be the first builder selected to try the Lesko Ferrules.
Changing strings on string thru body guitars becomes much easier and quicker to with this modification.
Highly recommended for live players who find themselves in need of a quick string change.
Sincerely
Charles Whitfill
