Eico HF-89 Tube Power Amplifier 1960's

This Eico HF-89 Tube Amplifier is in great condition showing only minor wear from use and handling over the years. This unit was rebuilt and ready the next owner for years to come. 50 watts RMS per channel into loads for 4, 8, & 16 ohms with no hum or distortion. When listening to this amplifier you will notice a midrange that is very smooth plus a low frequency extension which is superb, due to the very large output transformers. The rebuild performed was done to sonically improve an already wonderful amplifier and to make it more reliable. Fully tested and 100% functional.

Notable appointments:

• 4 Coupling caps are .1uF @ 600 volt MultiCap.
• 6SN7 Bypass Caps are .22uF @ 400 Voil MultiCap.
• Voltage Double Caps ungraded from 300uF to 380uF @ 350 volts and are Mallory.
• Filter Caps for tube B+ are all Mallory.
• 3 Caps in Bias supply are all Mallory 50uF @ 150 volts.
• All resistors are high quality metal film and wire-wound selected for sonic purity and reliability.
• The original fuser thermistor was replaced with a pair of CL70 Inrush Current Limiters.
• Output tubes are vintage 1999 Svetlana EL-34 that sound great.
• Speaker connectors have been upgraded to 5-way banana terminals.
