Gold Tone OT-800LN, made in China 2018, walnut gloss finish. This is a lot of fun. The 'Old Time' series replicates some of the folk instruments from pre-war Eastern USA, so this has a very traditional spec sheet and build style. A 'long neck' model and kind of like a baritone version of a banjo: it's tuned to an open E instead of a G, so it's a little deeper and warmer than a regular 5-string. The open back design, with a brass tone ring and a maple rim, makes for mellow, inviting tone. There's some nice details in the inlays, ebony board, combo ebony/maple bridge etc; it's a classy thing. Just add a long neck beer and a front porch and your weekend is off to a perfect start.
