Up for sale we have a 1982 Gibson Explorer E2 CMT in factory Cherry Sunburst finish with original hardshell case. The Explorer E2 CMT was produced between 1981-1984 and was one of several riffs on the Explorer format to be released by Gibson in the 1980's. The guitar is in excellent used condition showing light cosmetic wear throughout with small dings, dents and surface scratches around the body as well as a handful of dings on the neck, mostly around the edges of the headstock. Overall the guitar is in lovely shape, has been well cared for over the years and retains all of its original parts to the best of our knowledge. The E2 CMT features a 24 3/4" scale length,. solid Walnut/Maple sandwich body construction with bound Curly Maple top, Nitrocellulose lacquer Cherry Sunburst finish, equipped with its original pair of Dirty Fingers humbucking pickups with black surrounds (neck pickup reads 15.48k ohms and the bridge pickup reads 15.38k ohms on the multimeter) each with dedicated volume and tone controls, 3-way pickup selector switch, black 5-ply pickguard (b/w/b/w/b), gold plated Tune-O-Matic bridge and a TP-6 tailpiece. Maple/Walnut/Maple constructed neck with comfortable "C" shape profile measuring .800" deep at the first fret and 1.04" deep at the twelfth fret. Ebony fretboard with 12" radius, pearl dot inlaid fret markers and 22 medium jumbo frets. The original med-jumbo frets are present show some play wear with wide flat crowns but have good life left in them. Width at the nut measures 1 11/16". The neck is straight and plays great up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or buzzing. The truss rod is accessible at the headstock beneath the "E2" branded truss cover, it turns smoothly and functions as it should. The guitar weighs in at 10 lbs. 2 oz. Will be properly packed with care prior to shipment. In-store trades only. Please reach out with any further questions. Thanks for looking.
