What's the deal with refurbished

This instrument is stamped "used" on the back of the headstock by the manufacturer-authorized refurbisher. Why It was deemed to have a cosmetic imperfection or to need a repair. Check the description to see exactly why this instrument is considered refurbished. We scrutinize every instrument and pass along all information from the refurbisher so that you know exactly what you are getting.

This particular guitar took a hit on the edge of the treble side lower bout early in its life, either at the factory or on its way to a dealer or its first customer. This caused some damage to the top and binding in the area, which has been professionally repaired and refinished perfectly smooth by an Alvarez-authorized refurbisher. There was a little scuff on the back of the body which has been sealed smooth as well. We have included close-up photos of each so you can take a look.

This all-solid dreadnought produces an exceptionally vibrant tone with a punchy but controlled bottom end. The midrange is rich but defined, while the upper register sings smoothly right up through the reaches of the cutaway. Outfitted with an LR Baggs pickup and preamp system with discreet soundhole-mounted tone and volume controls, this Yairi is equally stage- and studio-friendly.

How Does It Play

The neck is a beautiful V profile at the nut, gradually becoming a C towards the heel. The string action is currently 7/64” on the low E string at the 12th fret and 5/64” on the high E string. This spec allows the strings to be superbly resonant yet still easy to play. If you prefer even lower action, just let us know and we will be happy to accommodate!

This guitar will ship in a new TKL hard case as pictured, in mint condition except for a very light bit of scuffing on the front.
