Up for grabs is a used (with less than light average wear) Electro Harmonix Holy Grail Reverb V1 (digital) classic casing. From the 2000s.

The silver ares of the casing look as it does in pictures # 1 and # 2 (shiny silver). The other pictures showing the silver areas were taken in a different light (without the camera's flash) to better the the imperfections. That is why in these pictures -- the silver area look dull.

NOTE: this model pedal (the classic casing version) is designed to NOT use a battery. That is why the Truetone 1 Spot NW1-US, 9V 1700 mA adapter with a new open pacakge Truetone 1 SPOT (C35) 3.5mm converter are included.

Also included is print out copy of the Instructions/Manual paperwork (sorry not pictured). And -

*** I am including one new set of D'Addario EXL-110 light (gauge 10) electric guitar strings. Please let me know if you prefer D'Addario EXL-120 super light (gauge 9) strings instead of the gauge 10 strings ***

The selling price will be:

  • $3 less if you do not need the strings
  • $10 less if you do not need the adaptor
  • $3 less if you do not need the Truetone (C35) 3.5mm converter
  • Please make an offer with a message stating that you do not need any of these items. You can also message me if you prefer that these details be edited in listing.

Sorry NO box / NO paperwork.

This pedal, the adapter, and the C35 converter were tested and they work fine.

NOTE: Even though the adapter is made by Truetone - when used with the Truetone (C35) 3.5mm converter:

  • it is the correct one to use with this Electro Harmonix pedal and it can work with other Electro Harmonix pedals from the same series that have the jack for a 1/8" (3.5mm) plug end. NO other DOD pedal are part of this listing.
  • And whe you use the adapter WITHOUT the Truetone C35 converter - you can use it with Boss pedals, etc. NO Boss pedals included.
  • SEE close-up picture # 23 to see the label on the adaptor. Feel free to ask for more pictures of the adaptor.

Here is a link for the manual in case you want to view it, print it and / or download it (but it will be included):

  • manualzz.com/doc/17357692/holy-grail-manual

It has true bypass. The blue effect on / off switch seen on pictures # 4 and # 5.

You can see most (not all) of the imperfections on the pedal. And you can see some - but not all - of the imperfections on the adapter. Feel free to ask for more pictures.

  • TOP Side of the casing - The main areas have many rust spots (small, very small, tiny). The back and front edges also have rust spots. The mains areas have some short and very short light scratches and some tiny & very small light nicks. And it has some light surface discoloration.
  • The SCREWS on the top side are mostly clean -- a few areas of the screws heads have discoloration. The By-Pass SWITCH and the nut / washer for the by-pass switch are clean.
  • The GRAPHIC has several visible nicks scratches - but overall - nothing too extreme.
  • LEFT Side -- Main black aress are mostly very clean. It has a few tiny & very small nicks. The silver edges has discoloartion / rust (I should be able to carefully sand off the rust onthe edges).
  • RIGHT Side -- Main black areas are mostly very clean. It has a few tiny, very small, & small nicks. And it has a few short scratches. The silver edges has discoloartion / rust (I should be able to carefully sand off the rust onthe edges).
  • BOTTOM Side - Main black areas are mostly very clean. The left edge has about two small nicks. The main area has a very short dash scratch, a short hair-line scratch, a small round cloudy surface spot, and a few very tiny light nicks. The silver edges has discoloartion / rust (I should be able to carefully sand off the rust onthe edges).
  • FRONT SIDE: It has some rust spots - most are tiny - but a few are small and very small. These rust spots are also nicks. And it has has a few short hair-line scratches.
  • BACK SIDE: It has several rust spots - some are small, some are very small, and some are tiny. These rust spots are also nicks. The upper are has a light long horizontal surface scratch (it kind of looks like a cloudy surface line). And the Back Side has a few extremely short very light scratches.
  • The nuts & washers for the INPUT and OUTPUT jacks are mostly fine / clean.
  • KNOB - Mostly clean. The top side has a few very short dash scratches, a few very short light cloudy surface markings. And the top outer areas (edge areas)s have very light surface wear.
  • FEET - The original round black rubber feet were changed to square black rubber feet. They have light- but visible scuffs and a few tiny / very small nicks..

The INSIDE of the pedal:

  • The circuit board is clean.
  • The inside of the upper part of the metal casing has a little bit of cloudiness / oxidation, rust, and a couple of tiny and very short nicks / scratches. Some of these imperfections are from and & use and some are from how it was manufacture and / or natural imperfections.
  • The nside area of the bottom part is very clean with a few not too serious imperfections.

The Truetone 1 Spot NW1-US is in used conditon.

  • some areas of the hard rectangular part have many imperfections (scratches / nicks / scuffs) and some ares are mostly clean with a few imperfections.
  • the label is mostly fine with a few tiny / very small nicks and a few light / very light short hair-line scratches
  • the two plug blades are fine
  • the barrel end is fine
  • the wire is fine with some light bends from having been folded, it is slightly twisty, and it has very light surface wear from age and from use.
  • See picture #23 for the specifications of the adaptor.
  • Even though the adapter is 1700mA - the peda requires 500 mA . The pedal will only draw the necessary mA that it needs from the adapter.

The Truetone C35 Converter is new open package. You need to use it with the adapter to power this Holy Grail pedal. Not only because it is necessary to do so for the power jack - but also because the C35 is positive tip (also called) positive center. Whereas the adapter itself is negative center. So the C35 reverses the polarity.

the controls are: REVERB and Reverb Type switch (SPRING, HALL, and FLERB).

the jacks are:  OUTPUT, INPUT, and Power.

  • Power info (power requirements): 9V DC, 500 mA, 1/8" (3.5mm) plug for jack, positive tip.
  • The Holy Grail does not take battery(ies).

NOTE: the power jack is for an adapter with an 1/8" (3.5mm) plug end, positive tip/center, and negative ground.  The “tip” is positive, meaning it carries the audio signal. The “sleeve” is typically negative or ground, serving as a return path for the audio signal and reducing electrical interference

  • If you use a Boss type of adapter with barrel end or a Trutone adapter with barrel end (or someting similar) -- you can add a converter like this one: Truetone 1 SPOT 3.5MM converter to your adapter.
  • Truetone adapter and Truetone 3.5MM converterare included (unless you do not need one or both of these items).
  • This Truetone link has info about the Truetone 1 SPOT C35 3.5mm converter (in case you are not familiar with this item):
  • store.truetone.com/products/1-spot-3-5mm-converter
  • This information is from the above link: (C35) Allows the 1 SPOT and MC5 cable to power Electro-Harmonix, older DOD, and other pedals that require a positive tip 3.5mm (1/8″) plug.

I took pictures of all sides of the pedal, there are some pics of the inside of the pedal, there are som epicutres of the Truetone adapter, and a few pictures of the C35 converter. And the first picture shows what it comes with.  Please message me (or make an offer) if you only want to buy the pedal or if you would like to buy the pedal with certain items presented in this listing.

Feel free to ask for more pictures.

NOTE:   There may be some imperfections that I overlooked.   There may be some imperfections that can be seen in person that do not appear in the pictures.   And - there maybe some imperfections show up in the pictures that are not that visible in person (like glares and dust specks.

Product Overview
The Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail ranks as one of the most popular and recognizable reverb pedals of all time. There have been many different versions of this pedal over the years, and this specific example uses a larger enclosure than the more recent designs. Beyond its form factor, it is essentially the same pedal with a single knob to control the extent of the reverb and selectable "spring," "hall," and "flerb" reverb modes.
