Here for sale we have a stunning Guild Custom Shop S7CE Peregrine Standard in Crimson Red finish. Made in the USA in 1999, this instrument features a Chambered construction comprising Mahogany back, sides, Mahogany top, set-in Mahogany neck and 20 Medium fret Rosewood fingerboard with matching bridge. This guitar is fitted with Chrome hardware including a set of Grover sealed tuning machines. A Fishman Acoustic Matrix Natural system is installed into this guitar, side mounted controls for volume and a master tone.

The Mahogany neck plays very well, with a neck profile resembling a ‘D’, filling the hand nicely for a substantial yet articulate grip that allows for comfortable fretting and easy playability in all registers. The single cutaway design and shallow body depth enhance access to the upper frets, meaning you can make use of all 20 frets. The Rosewood fingerboard is smooth under the fingers, along with the 12" radius is more akin to an electric guitar, facilitating electric-specific techniques such as string bending. The body is nice and slim, feeling very manageable in both standing and seated positions. At a sprightly 5.95lbs, this guitar is nice and light on the shoulder for those long gigs.

The voice of the Guild is finely balanced, with the Mahogany back and sides providing a deep, rich low end and strong mids whilst also allowing for sharp snappy high end to be made clear when needed. The Mahogany top also adds warmth and brightness to the sound that beautifully colours every note played on the instrument. The all-solid construction ensures a lively and resonant sound, with a wide and sensitive dynamic range that retains clarity even at higher volumes. The Fishman Acoustic Matrix Natural provides the versatility for live and recording situations, capturing the natural voice of this instrument perfectly, whilst the side mounted controls offer the player comprehensive control of their tone, making this a very practical guitar.

Aesthetic Condition:

Overall good condition, the bass side corner nearest the nut presents delamination of the headstock veneer, This has caused the finish to crack around the rear of the headstock. This does not affect the structural stability of the neck. Light yet consistent scratching is apparent to all aspects of the headstock, visible under direct lighting. The top edges demonstrate mild indentation cracking the finish in places.

Overall very good condition, very light scratching and indentation not cracking the finish is apparent to the rear of the neck throughout the entire register. The fingerboard demonstrates light indentation in the early register which cannot be felt under the finger when playing.

Overall very good condition, light to moderate scratching and indentation is apparent to all aspects of the body. This is most notable to the lower bout of the front face and the rear bass side waist, consistent with buckle rash.

Condition of Frets:

The frets show moderate signs of use, not affecting playability. Denting and flattening of the frets is noticeable through the early frets, improving as you climb the register. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
