Gibson S-1 with Rosewood Fretboard 1976 - 1977

Cool Gibson made in the USA in the 70s. Serial number is the old style so that dates it to around 1976-1977, solid wood brown color body and maple neck with rosewood fretboard.

The body could possibly have been refinished, its hard to get good information on these old Gibsons and they came in a lot of varieties, but it does feel like nice vintage nitro and looks really great with the wood grain showing.

There are lots of dings and small scratches and cosmetic damage that is normal with a guitar of this vintage, these days you pay extra for this kind of real relicing, anyway please do not expect closet queen condition. There are some black spots on the bottom of headstock, maybe from a bad guitar hanger, they can probably be cleaned off but I haven't tried to.

Tuners have been replaced with Gibson brand tuners, they look like old 70s/80s tuners. Top strap button has been moved to the back with the hole filled, looks like there may have been another hole thats also been filled. As far as I can tell the rest of the parts look original to me and works normally, including the original Bill Lawrence designed single coil pickups and the unique pickup selector options for the S-1 models.

Neck is relatively straight, truss rod turns fine, original frets have divot wear in the usual areas but everything plays fine up and down the neck with medium action. Weighs approximately 7 lbs 14 oz on my digital scale.

I've tried my best to describe what I can, but I'm not a vintage guitar dealer or expert so please check the photos and ask any questions before buying. I'm not responsible for knowing every small part of the guitar, I'm just a guitar player so I can guarantee that the guitar plays well enough for a vintage guitar, however I don't accept returns if the guitar has minor issues such as a slightly twisted neck or frets that are too worn for your particular playing style, so please do not buy if you do not accept those kinds of things in your vintage guitars. I have a very high feedback rating and am reasonable to working things out in most cases but I have had to deal with a couple of unreasonable people so I'm including these disclaimers.

No case included but it'll be very well wrapped and shipped in a sturdy guitar box, I've shipped many guitars and never had problems with my guitar shipments.
