For their 60th anniversary, Guild opened their legendary Custom Shop. The first guitars to be made there were 60 handcrafted instruments made with the best quality materials in every detail, including a diamond in the headstock (60 years is a diamond anniversary).
It’s based on a nice and cozy feeling F30
Orchestra model. Koa AAAAA top, back & sides, red spruce bracing and a mahogany/walnut/mahogany neck with gold Waverley tuners and Rosewood buttons. Mother of pearl and abelone inlays. Custom hardshell case.
The sound is incredible and wonderful. It gives warmth, clarity and has a wide tonal range. If you fingerpick, well, it’s even more delightful.
Slight markings on back of headstock & binding (both pictured).
Number 22/60 and the only one I know of in the UK. This guitar was the actual one featured in Acoustic Magazine, and was pride of place at the London Acoustic Guitar Show.
