These were cool looking guitars-vintage Danelectro inspired Black paint finish with Silver sparkles on a somewhat Mosrite inspired body with a Fender Strat pick up configuration, along with a tremolo! However, that‘s where it ends and the Dano Blaster Hearsay begins. A solid plywood body weighing just 6lbs, 4oz, with a bolt-on Maple neck and a Rosewood fingerboard with jumbo frets. Nut width measures 1-5/8“ with a scale length of 25". Electronics are Original-three single coil pickups, with a master volume, a master tone, and a 5 way switch. Two input jacks mounted on the bottom side of body with one marked ‘Bypass’ or regular and the other input marked ‘Effects (Batt On)’, which activates the distortion effect that is switchable with an on/off button and adjusted with the 3rd knob, very faintly inscribed ‘Effect’ on the top of knob. This serves as a sweep or filter control, and is powered by the 9 volt battery mounted in the back. The guitar hasn’t been played for quite a while, and though I sprayed contact cleaner on its components and worked it in real good, some minor scratchy-ness (dust) still exists. Could possibly dissipate in time with continued use. The guitar does show signs of prior play wear with some scratches to the pickguard and some slight discoloration to the pickup covers, along with a couple of small paint chips/dings around the body and small nicks on the headstock. Also, a couple of small nicks on the backside of the neck behind frets 4 and 6. Neck pocket surface paint crack(s) is observed on the treble side where body and neck are joined. Regardless, it fits nice and tight. The guitar is missing the tremolo back plate and tremolo arm, so these items are not included. Tuning keys are original-a great design and turn smoothly. Guitar plays well, but if I were keeping, I would probably add maybe a quarter of a turn to the truss rod. Idk, you may like it like it is. The good thing is it’s all adjustable. With a keen eye, I observe an ever so slight sag in the neck. Just needs a hair more tension to me. The adjustment is at the base of the neck and you have to un-bolt the neck to get access. Any guitar shop can do this simple adjustment. While you’re at it, string it up with your favorite strings and set the intonation. This guitar hasn’t seen any playing time in awhile-it could use it. Comes in a sharp two tone padded gig bag, with a now out-of-business store logo stenciled on front.
