Kay/Univox - Effector (1979)

The coolest early 1970s Kay/Univox Effector you'll ever have the opportunity to buy, if not the only opportunity for one that works very nearly 100% vintage correct.

Partial Resto and Modification professionally completed by Miltronicks include vintage correct LP Hard Case with gold interior.

1. The electronics/controls have been gone through and cleaned with deoxit. The repairs needed were mostly due to the fact some componets were simply old (electrolytic caps and output jack (now switch craft) were replaced and needed some solder joint reflows.
2. A new cover was made for the battery box. A few high frets were knocked down few high frets all notes sound and the flavor is in the fuzz.
3. Speaking of the Fuzz, the tech and I made the call to give some additional juice/muscle and this kitty really GROWLS now! This is something that should probably have been standard from the get-go. The additional effects beyond the Fuzz will add a slight boost to your high notes.
4. The headphone output was non functional as a headphone jack. So, we changed this to a standard jack, clean chanel (signal) only jack which allows the guitar to be played dual amp! That's right! Your main jack is partnered with your built in effects, your secondary jack bypasses them! I thought this was a groovy, non-vintage correct change to make.

   The effector comes equipped with 5 onboard effects; Echo, Tremolo, Wah, Whirlwind, and Fuzz, all variable. Activated by simple on-off switches and controlled by a master Speed knob (in conjunction with Volume and Tone), effects have true to the era psychedelic potential and are simply... DRIPPING WITH COOL. Guitar nerds are going to gush at this thing.

Guitar will come clean/polished, restrung, and cometely set up literally ready to rock right out of the box, tuned to Eb Standard to really make the dirty Fuzz that much dirtier.

Some knicks and dings are part of this guitar's history and as such none of the hardware has been replaced because frankly I think it adds to the cool factor and authenticity.

Many examples of this model have issues with some or all the effects not working, or generally just being treated with carelessness throughout their life. I promise you THIS IS NOT THAT, and after some TLC as stated above, all the fx work as they did originally, if not better.
