About This Listing

PRICE DROP! Exceedingly rare National Duolian with the ultimate spec; Jacaranda fretboard, maple neck and all original cone and parts. This guitar was set up for slide when I got it so the frets are basically untouched except for the careful leveling done by Mark S. It has the rare and sought after Dead straight maple neck with a Brazillian fretboard that looks as good as the day it left National almost 100 years ago. All original parts and paint with a protective coat of Nitro for another 90 years of life. If you look at the picture of the back you will see the amazing state of the Dueco finish. The best thing about this amazing instrument is its playability. The action is an incredible 3.4 at the 12th fret with about as perfect intonation as I have heard on a National. This was achieved through proper setup and not by shaving down the saddle and nut like a lot of old resonators. This was a proper restoration. The break angle at the tailpiece is very steep. This creates much greater sound and resonance. This was all set up by the best in the business. Original cone and tuners are still present and were in an u touched state at time of restoration. this had never even been opened. Even the cover screws are the originals. I had a new compensated bridge installed by National but will include the original biscuit and bridge As well. But it keeps getting better….This guitar comes in a super rare Lifton case built specifically for resonators and made for only a couple of years in the 40s. It is metal reinforced and has protected this guitar very well. I hope this beautiful instrument finds the right home. I would love to sell it locally and give considerably better deals in person.
