from a website: "The AB-2 uses Imbuia (Ocotea porosa), also known as ‘Brazilian Walnut’ for the body, Spruce for the body bracing but laminate Maple for the sound-well, visible through the large sound hole located on the cutaway." the "sound-well" is the internal bracing section as can be seen through the sound hole.
this is a very large two octave fretless acoustic electric bass made by Taylor from year 2002. sounds between an electric but with upright bass quality and as an acoustic resonates quite well in an acoustic jam with other guitars. The fret lines make it a joy to play!!
It has not been played much and been in storage for over 15 years. There's one blemish that was "corrected" with some super glue years ago on the side. It shows signs of typical ware but not abuse.
It's strung with an older set of elixir strings at the moment, I think the only set I ever put on it.
The electronics work but a battery will be needed to be installed in the body through the quite large access hole. A small Allen wrench will bee needed to remove the access panel.
I'm including the original issue Taylor factory canvas gig bag.
shipping is included in the price.
