Hoshino (Ibanez) used the Starfield name in 1970s on Japanese made guitars. From 1992 to 1993 the brand was made in US and Japan, again by Hoshino – this 1992 Starfield SJ was made at Fujigen in Japan.
The Starfield features a bolt-on construction comprising an Alder body, Maple neck and 22 fret Rosewood fretboard with the distinctive off centre fret markers - The maple neck is a very flat C profile and so easy to play. This guitar is equipped with a 2-point Synchronized Tremolo and a set of Gotoh tuning machines. A trio of Single-Coils pickups are wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume and master tone control.
The rare Salmon Pink finish is lighter in real life than on the pictures but we haven’t seen the combination of this colour with a Rosewood fretboard before – very nice. The guitar is in really excellent condition with no marks or dings and comes complete with a hard case.
