SMW Guitars Sklar Tribute Pickwicker-P Series 2024 - Tung Oil

This is a hand built bass guitar from S.M. Wolk Guitars B stock. (We honor previous coupons for SMW Guitars which is the same company) It is the honorary Sklar Tribute Pickwicker-P series and is a one off. Future builds by commission for big fans of Sklar only.. the people who just need that spot on tone when playing along with his thousands of tracks.

This was made meticulously to the available details of the real thing. This bass has two original EMG backwards split coil pickups placed in the exact spot as on Leland Sklars bass. The middle compartment has been slightly enlarged to accommodate batteries and other stashables. Oh yea it’s 2024, it fits about 3 regular… you know… and maybe 5-7 dog walkers. The circuitry has 1 volume for each pickup, and one EMG 2 band EQ, allowing bass and treble boosts. The bridge is the Fender Hi Mass bridge (a caveat, Lee has the badass bridge, but these are equal tonally) . It has Fender vintage tuners and a Hipshot D-Tuna. The nut is made of brass. Compound radius 9.5”-12”. The body wood is a 2 piece alder body finished with tung oil. The neck is a maple neck with a dual action Truss rod and an Indian rosewood fretboard. Yes, I used mandolin frets. The smallest I could possibly find. This will ship with a typical hard case, a coupon for future purchases, and a wizards wig and beard to wear while you jam. Literally, all that’s left is the skill.

Why B stock? The neck shim. The BIG reason would be the fretboard with minor superglue squeeze out. doesn’t effect sound in any way.
My thoughts? This bass sounds epic. Super smooth, can be mellow, aggressive, slaps like Sunny T, Flea, or Victor Wooten.. just amazing. Only selling to jumpstart company sales. $670 went into building this and it has about $500 great parts alone. Its a steal..
