Ashbury GR-3315 - Gloss Natural

Here for sale we have an Ashbury Irish Bouzouki in Gloss Natural finish. Made in China, this instrument features Maple back and sides, Spruce top, Mahogany neck and 23 fret Ovangkol fingerboard. This Bouzouki has been fitted with a Schatten BM-1 undersaddle piezo pickup and jack plug assembly, meaning that it can be amplified for use in a live setting. 

The Mahogany neck plays well, feeling slender and fluid in the hand thanks to its narrow 'U' shaped profile, as well as the gloss finish to the rear. The Ovangkol fingerboard adds a touch of luxury, feeling premium under the fingers and providing a comfortable playing surface. The body sits well in the lap ensuring comfort when playing for extended periods.

The Maple back and sides provide a clear, open and bright tone, with an unpronounced yet well defined low end, crisp and clear midrange and glistening, bell-like high frequencies. The Spruce top helps the instrument to project well, with a wide dynamic range that feels sensitive to the player's touch. The addition of an undersaddle pickup on this particular instrument provides versatility for recording and live situations.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall Excellent condition, the front face of the headstock presents very light scratching visible under direct light, as is common with gloss black finishes. Protective plastic still present on the truss rod cover.

Neck: Overall excellent condition, the rear of the neck presents very light scratching, only visible under direct light.

Body: Overall very good condition, the body presents light scratching, most notably to the rear face. The soundhole demonstrates a very light manufacturing flaw to the seam where the two bookmatched top pieces are joined. This does not affect the structure, playability or sound of the instrument.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate minimal signs of use. There is considerable material remaining for any future work the new owner may wish to perform.

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included.

Hardware: Fully functional with light signs of wear.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-2mm - Bass 2.5mm
