KASUGA F-10 OO-18 Martin Japanese copy

In the 1970's japan released quite a few Martin copies of Martin's popular models. Martin issued a cease order and won but not before quite a few guitars made their way to the US. This is a wonderful sized guitar. The OO is a bit bigger than a concert but smaller than the dreadnought and OOO.

This guitar had a broken brace which was repaired. In addition, a JDL Bridge doctor was installed to put the top back in alignment. the guitar is a high gloss clear coat finish. Rather than do a neck reset ( the high gloss finish would have never looked the same ) the bridge was shaved 1/8 inch. the neck has been polished to a smooth satin feel. The action is 2mm at the 12th fret.

The guitar plays easy and I would say it sounds much better as a strummer that a finger picked guitar for performing or recording. These Japanese Martin copies do not have the high end sparkle of a Martin but you pay a lot of money for that. It is fun to play, it looks cool and it is great for around the campfire or just an everyday beat around to play when creativity strikes.
