About This Listing

Guild F-212 SB with original case and case candy. Ready to play with low action. This one has some cosmetic issues which is reflected in the price.

Available until May when I’ll be traveling again.

All original except for the bridge pins and the saddle. All in all it's in pretty nice vintage shape, but it does have some scars and issues so please read everything before purchasing.

It has a few glued and cleated cracks on the top and one on the back.

Some slight binding shrinkage on the back at the waist that has been kind of reglued. No binding rot or missing pieces.

It has had a neck reset at one point and has some scars to prove it. The action is at about 3/32 on the bass side and 3/32 on the treble with some saddle height to spare. There is some fall away after the 14th fret where it begins to drop off slightly. This is left over from the neck reset when they changed the angle of the neck.

There is a gouge on the back of the neck from the neck cradle of the case rubbing against it. I put a cloth behind the neck when I put it in it's case so it doesn't worsen. It's located behind the 11th fret on the treble side and I can't feel it when I play.

k&k pure mini pickup installed.

Some of the tuners are hard to turn, but they do their job.

There is some player wear on the first few frets, but they still have life in them.

Currently strung up with D'Addario phosphor bronze lights. I would hesitate to put heavier strings on it, as it is a vintage guild and these guys are known to have some cracking issues, but it's up to you and your preference/riskiness.

The top does have some lacquer crazing that is difficult to photograph. It's sporadic and light but worth mentioning.

The back of the neck has darker cherry lacquer. I’m not sure if this is a thicker coat of lacquer from factory or if it had an overspray on the back of the neck at some point. No other sprays or touch ups anywhere else.

I think that's it. Please let me know if you have any questions or want any specs. It's a great guitar, I just don't play 12 strings much.

Please see the video below for a close up and sound sample. This was filmed last year before a year of traveling. The pics above are from March 31, 2024.
