Vintage Dime-Store Blues Machine...

Here is a vintage Paul branded Kawai surf guitar. As a Canadian, I can explain. In the sixties there was a famed Montreal amp company called Pineco/Pepco that made cool little blues harp and guitar amps. They used many brandings; one of then being Paul (named after the owner's son). Paul branded Pineco amps are very rare. They must have imported a few guitars from the Teisco factory and branded them as well. This is the only one that I have ever seen.

It's a player and sounds great. The action is very low for an old Teisco. The pup is missing a spring (it's in the cavity somewhere). There are some surface scuffs and a hairline surface crack in the finish near the neck joint but nothing serious. The bridge is smooth and likely not original. The bottom strap peg is missing.

The chromed pickguard against the tobacco burst looks fantastic. Electronics are working. The neck is straight and the frets are in good shape. Holds tune well. It's a blues monster with a drive pedal and a slide.
