About This Listing

This is a beautiful 1963 GA-19RVT Falcon tube amp from Gibson. This amp sounds fantastic and functions perfectly. The tubes, as far as I can tell, are original to the amp, and have tons of vintage mojo. The amp has been re-capped and a 3-prong, grounded plug has been added for safety. Everything else is original and no modifications have been made to the sound circuitry.

All the pots move smoothly with no scracthiness or other noise, and the built-in reverb and tremolo work as the should with the attached footswitch. This amp is plenty loud and has plenty of clean headroom before breaking up beautifully around 7 on the dial. The tolex is mostly in good shape except for the pictures corners, one of which got chewed on a bit by a previous owner’s dog. Aside from that it’s excellent. There is a very light patina on the chassis.

Product Overview
The GA-19RVT Falcon was a 15 watt combo with a single 12-inch speaker. Early on, this amp was also produced with a tweed covering. The tweed examples are more collectable and valuable than the later brown models.
