Very cool 8 string Mandobird! Somewhat uncommon and always stylish, this mandolin combines a timeless body shape with a modern take on the instrument. In my humble opinion, it’s more useful than the 4 string iteration, with sweet tremolo sounds abound. Not only does it look cool, it plays well too.
It features a single M4 pickup with volume and tone controls, with a nice jangly sound that works well both with clean and overdriven amps (bonus points, this thing is a lot of fun with a Wah and some fuzz). It has mini Grover Rotomatics and an adjustable bridge. The body and neck are mahogany, with a flat rosewood fretboard.
This Mandobird is in nice shape, with the only real signs of use being some finish swirl and small scratches. The electronics function well as they should, and the pots have been deox'ed for quiet operation.
It has been cleaned and restrung with a custom selected D’Addario set (10-39). The frets have been polished, the fretboard has been cleaned, and the nut has been lubricated with graphite. The string height is low and slick, making this one a real joy to play!
