Without separating his technical training from the traditional guitar-making school, he has always sought to innovate with his instruments, in order to provide them with higher acoustic power and greater expressive capacity at the same time, always under a base pattern of balance and sound warmth
This Baarslag Flamenco model is an early one! He started building guitars under his own name in 1980 and this model is from 1981, number two to be exact. If this refers to the second model of that year is a little unclear, but this could just happen to be the second guitar he ever finished under the Baarslag name.
Although it has quite some playwear, mainly on the top of the instrument, it's structurally solid and it sounds fantastic. The combination of Cypress and Spruce give the guitar a loud, clear and direct punch. Perfect for the Flamenco playing-style for which this instrument was built. The action is comfortably low strung with normal tension strings, and the saddle still has plenty of room for the discerning player that wants an even lower action or wants to play around with different strings.
In short, this is a versatile instrument that can be used for much more than just Flamenco alone.
