About This Listing

This super rare ‘CSL’ twin neck 6/12 guitar is a rebadged Ibanez SG model 2402CH (Cherry Finish) that was made in very limited numbers in Fuji-Gen Gakki factory between 1973-1976 when Ibanez stopped marketing ‘clone’ guitar styles and concentrated on their own original guitar designs.

The ‘CSL/2402’ model is now regarded as one of finest clone guitars produced at that time, with the tone, look and feel quite similar to the iconic original, presenting the very highest quality luthiering skills of the artisans at Fuji Gen Gakki from that period.

The unmistakable charm of having a 12 string and 6 string on the same instrument is the ultimate instrument for the player who needs to have all the classic rock sounds at hand. It is not only been a practical solution but a source of creative inspiration !

A strikingly handsome guitar from a distinguished lineage of pro quality guitars this ‘CSL’ twin neck retains its positively rich glossy factory finish, save for some very light handling marks and surface polishing swirls. Cosmetically, this instrument is in excellent condition; having been lovingly cherished and lightly played; throughout its current musical journey, with absolutely NO BACK RASH as can be seen in the condition photos.

The sort after factory fitted ‘Super 70’s Humbuckers’ are full, rich and articulate when pushed and super clean when rolled off. The switching arrangement on this guitar has one big advantage over the original with a pickup switch for each neck, and a third switch to switch between the necks.

The guitar has been recently serviced by our independent luthier with both truss rods working, neck relief’s set, fretboards cleaned, restrung and with all electronics working perfectly.

This instrument is strung with hybrid gauge 9-46 strings and will accommodate lighter or heavier gauge strings, according to preference. String action is set on both necks to approx 2mm (b) - 1.50mm(t) for rhythm / chord voicings and arpeggiated/articulate lead lines. The action may be lowered, or raised to playing style and string guage spec's using the adjustable bridges.

Please review all photos carefully as they form part of the description. We are happy to provide additional photos on request.

A very rare opportunity to purchase a one owner, spectacular quality, ‘CSL’ twin neck), from a ‘Golden Build Period’ in excellent condition with highly desirable build features, paired with its original, and equally rare, OEM hard shell fitted case.

Significantly appreciating in value over the past few years due to the very limited numbers ever made, and with Collectors, Investors, and discerning Stage Players holding on to any examples.

Not only a stellar rare vintage guitar but a very sound investment!
