This is a vintage, circa 1960 Wandre Blue Jeans Teenager with a Red Sparkle finish. These are often referred to as the Tri-Lam model in reference to its three-ply laminate wood bodies. They are rare and undeniably cool.
Made by designer Antonio Vandrè Pioli at his Round Factory in Cavriago, Italy, Wandres feature aluminum necks with Art Deco-styled bodies. These guitars are as close to modern art sculpture as they are fantastic playing and sounding instruments. Its headstock bears the badge of its USA importer/distributor, Noble's Music in Chicago. It is cleverly designed, its neck surprisingly comfortable and easy to navigate. It has a single pickup, embedded in its plastic pickguard, and a bridge with movable saddle inserts for intonation and spacing. It is in great shape for its age, with some ever-common Wandre finish cracks. It's a total dream to play and weighs just 4 lbs, 5 oz.
It has been professionally setup and comes with a vintage Stone hardshell case.
