About This Listing

Up for sale, a 2012 Fender Kurt Cobain Mustang in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, finished in Fiesta Red. A rare left-handed example from a very limited "Made in Japan" production run, this Fender is a no-nonsense tool perfectly suited to creating both the distorted churn and raw single coil cut heard across Nirvana's catalog.

The pickup complement includes a Fender Japan single coil in the neck position and a USA-made Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB humbucker in the bridge position. As Duncan's original hot-rodded humbucker, the pickup offers full, powerful low end, detailed highs, and an upper-midrange bump that adds crunch and chunk to heavy chords that translates to a singing, vocal-like quality when playing single notes or solos. Weighing 7lbs 6oz, this Kurt Cobain Mustang has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The gloss Fiesta Red finish has only a scant few faint marks and finish scratches on the back. The smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
