About This Listing

1981 G&L L 2000 Series E from the first 12 month of production of these amazing instruments.

This 43 years old bass is in spectacular condition and plays smooth like butter.

Great range of tonal combinations, this is one of the early G&L with the original headstock design before the lawsuit that forced Leo Fender to change it in 1984.

Comes with the original tolex case , same as musicman used back in the day, before both company moved onto the plastic ones.

It’s a brilliant instrument and a great collector piece.

Not many of these early L 2000-E around as they are quite a rare instrument , especially in these condition.

Product Overview
Holding a special place in G&L history, the G&L L-2000 was one of the first basses designed for the brand by Leo Fender in 1980. Many consider the L-2000 to be a continuance of the models he was designing for both Music Man and Fender, giving this bass quite a reputation. Its dual-humbucker and three-way toggle switch configuration, along with the many wood choices and neck profiles G&L offered for this model, give the L-2000 an impressive versatility.
