About This Listing
This guitar is on Display at Oakland Guitars if you would like to see it in person.
This is an 1963 L Plate Jazzmaster that has been recently refinished in a beautiful faded Fiesta Red with a matching headstock.
All Electronics (including pickups and pots), body, and neck are all original. The tuners were replaced at some point during its life and I did not get the originals when I bought the guitars. The original pickgaurd was replaced as well, but I have added a dark tort Spitfire pickguard to get this as close to original as possible.
Included is the original bridge and vibrato unit are included and are stored in the moder deluxe molded Fender flight case. Currently installed is a mastery bridge and OVM for the smoothest float imaginable on a JM.
If you are after a PRE CBS Jazzmaster but also want to it to play amazing... this is your vibe. The frets appear to be original with little wear, but are quite small which is standard for these guitars.
Fender announced the Jazzmaster at the 1958 NAMM show as a high-end jazz guitar with an array of innovative features and sleek sports-car inspired curves. Though the model never really caught on with jazz players, it was quickly embraced by surf rock players due to its unique floating tremolo system and mellower sounding pickups. Later, the Jazzmaster would find new life as an iconic instrument for a range of indie rock players.
